  1. Pseudo-selector created by Gestalt.Appl.
  2. Processor frequency is estimated from number of iterations of 680x0 DBRA instruction per millisecond. A calculation is made with every type of processor.
  3. Returns 0 if the type of processor is unknown, and a likely erroneous value on non-standard configurations (acceleration cards, non-Macintosh machines, etc.).
  4. Known problem: 窶炉req窶™ gets an erroneous value on PowerBook 5x0 configurations because the 窶歪put窶™ selector is defined and gives an erroneous result. The new version, 窶炉rq2窶™, avoids this problem by using a different algorithm.
